Day 1
The first day of the trip was spent on getting from The Netherlands (Schiphol) to New York. I was traveling with a friend of mine who had just bought a new gadget: a Digital Video camera.
Transport from the airport in New York was by means of the obligatory
Yellow Cab. We tried to jump the queue, but that didn't work.
The first thing to do if you have a room that's a long way above the
ground is admire the Manhattan view. If the weather cooperates, it is
supposed to be really good...
Thanks to the time difference and the generous opening hours, there
was still some time left to shop for some extra gadgets. Gadgets being
cheap in the USA was the rationalisation for this trip. My friend got
some goodies for his DV camera, I got some things for my good old
analog 35mm still camera.
